Izzy Skinner, an extraordinary Alt Rock Pop artist from Ballarat, Australia, has been making waves with her innovative musical style, drawing from diverse genres like jazz, Latin, and Latin pop. Having graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts with an honours year and a bachelor’s degree specialising in jazz and improvisation, Izzy is now pursuing a master’s in music (composition) at the Australian Institute of Music. She began her musical journey by working in a music shop, joining Mariachi bands, and contributing to her peers’ recordings.

Her track “Mala Suerte” from her debut album “Mr Wizard,” released in 2022, features soulful guitar, violin, and piano, delivering a sizzling jazzy Latin pop experience with her silky, sultry vocals. During her honours year, Izzy collaborated closely with Carnatic singer Shobha Sekhar and First Nations mentor Rob Bundle, exploring storytelling and mood through music. Her efforts resulted in her second album, “Myriad,” which boasts immaculate vibes and instrumentals that highlight the haunting nature of the violin. This collaboration has significantly enriched her music, allowing her to produce bangers that leave an indelible mark on the listener.
