Get ready to experience a unique blend of Contemporary Pop and Bedroom Pop that will captivate your heart

Contemporary Pop artist Doron Karavani is making waves in the music scene with his latest album, Time to Rise. Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, this singer-songwriter delivers a deeply personal collection of songs that resonate with listeners. “Every time I need to let something go, especially if I’m feeling down, I grab my guitar and make a song,” shares Doron, encapsulating the genuine emotion that fuels his music.

Having moved to Finland at the age of 21, Doron Karavani brings a rich tapestry of cultural influences to his music. Born in Yemen and later relocating to Israel near Tel Aviv, his journey to Finland began with an adventurous spirit and a love story—meeting a Finnish girl in India and following her back to her homeland.

Doron’s Time to Rise stands out for its intense authenticity. The album, comprising nine hauntingly beautiful songs, is available in all formats, including vinyl for those who appreciate the tactile connection to music. Recorded at the Magnusborg studio in Porvoo and mixed by Marco Kataja, the album features a talented group of musicians linked to the Porvoo scene. “We didn’t spend that much time laying down the basic tracks in the studio. First I sent everybody my acoustic demos – just me singing with my guitar,” he says. The result is an organic and heartfelt album that has captured the essence of live performance, a rarity in today’s meticulously polished productions.

What adds another layer of richness to Time to Rise is the involvement of musicians like Rob Dominis on keyboards, Niklas Mansner on electric guitar, Thomas Törnroos on drums, and Janne Rajala on bass. The album is further embellished with brass performances by Kalevi Louhivuori (trumpet, piano), Heikki Tuhkanen (trombone), and William Suvanne (alto sax). Additionally, Klaus Suhonen and Doron’s two daughters contribute backing vocals, delivering a family touch that amplifies the album’s emotional weight. “The first take was usually the best, and two takes was usually enough,” Doron reveals, showcasing the raw and candid nature of the recordings.

The thematic core of Time to Rise is evident in its title. “If someone listens to the album, I’d like them to think ‘hey, that’s right, I’d better do something with my life. If I fail, I have to get up and start again!'” Doron declares. This motivation for change and self-improvement is a recurring theme in his lyrics, capturing listeners’ hearts and minds. His passion for song-writing is akin to his love for food—intuitive, experimental, and soul-nourishing. Just like making a new and tasty dish every day, Doron creates melodies that inspire and comfort, a true hallmark of a contemporary pop maestro.
