A Song Born From a Musician’s Fight with MS Lands Before the Band’s Winter Dates

What listeners hear first on Louder is an acoustic guitar and a voice captured live at the same time. The recording took place at London Bridge Studio near Seattle, the room where Pearl Jam made Ten. Pete Keating and The Renslow Trestle released Louder on 3 July 2026. It runs 5:46. From that live core it grows into a driving alt-country song about refusing to let limits set the volume.

Pete Keating’s Louder is in the GetMusic.News playlist below, and his full coverage history sits on the Pete Keating profile. The single came to this desk through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news sites. Put it on, then read on for the studio behind it and the ballroom ahead of it.

Pete Keating and The Renslow Trestle Take Louder to Tacoma’s Spanish Ballroom on 2 January 2027

The timing matters now. That is because the band has a run of Pacific Northwest dates ahead. The biggest of them is the Spanish Ballroom in Tacoma on 2 January 2027.

The Spanish Ballroom sits inside the McMenamins Elks Temple at 565 Broadway, Tacoma. The building is a Beaux Arts fraternal hall, built in 1916 for the Elks. Today it houses a hotel, a restaurant and an events space. On 2 January 2027, the venue’s own calendar lists Carl & Wes. Meanwhile, Pete Keating’s show list puts the band at the Spanish Ballroom the same night.

That pairing has history. In fact, Pete Keating and The Renslow Trestle recently opened for Carl and Wes at Kelly’s Olympian in downtown Portland. So on the first Saturday of the year, Louder goes into a ballroom built in 1916.

A Live Band Before Anything Else, With a Winter Run Through Bellingham, Clinton and Tacoma

Before that, the road runs through smaller rooms. First, the band played Honey Moon Mead and Cider in Bellingham on 3 October. Next, November brings Bailey’s Corner Store in Clinton on the 7th and Real Art Tacoma on the 8th.

Keating describes his own aim plainly: to get feet tapping and people dancing. He performs only original material, and The Renslow Trestle are a well-rehearsed live band rather than a studio project. Also, his own site carries live videos of original songs from these rooms. For example, they include Tijuana Leather at Kelly’s Olympian, Oh Caroline in Bellingham and Shopfront Scarecrow in Clinton.

Similarly, Louder fits that pattern. The song suits a band in front of people, and the recording method makes that clear.

Louder Was Tracked Live at London Bridge Studio and Answers Limits With More Volume, Not Less

The recording choice came first. The band tracked the acoustic guitar and the lead vocal live, together. That way, the phrasing and the original intention of the song survived intact. The band then built the rest of the arrangement around that core.

In addition, the room adds its own weight. London Bridge Studio opened in 1985, founded by the brothers Rick and Raj Parashar. It sits in Shoreline, just north of Seattle. Geoff Turner designed its 5,000 square feet of tall ceilings, hardwood floors and brick walls for live sound. Its Neve 8048 console is still in service. Later, Alice in Chains recorded Facelift there in 1990, and Temple of the Dog and Pearl Jam’s Ten followed in 1991.

The band’s relationship with the studio goes beyond one song. Earlier, in January 2026, the band recorded the EP Stray Curls there. Eric Lilavois, now one of the studio’s owners, produced and engineered it.

What the Song Answers

Louder started with someone else’s fight. Keating wrote it with an older musician in mind, someone living with multiple sclerosis who kept going. The song then turns that resilience into an instruction. Push through the heaviest limits with confidence, and do not get quieter because things got harder.

That is why the title works as more than a word. The song answers a hard situation by asking for more, not less, and the live-tracked core keeps that message human. At 5:46, it is a long single. That leaves room for the band to build around the guitar and voice that started it.

The record suits fans of contemporary Americana and alt-country. In particular, it suits listeners who like a real band in a real room. It also suits anyone who needs a reason to keep going, said simply and without self-pity.

The GetMusic.News curator team: “Tracking the guitar and the voice together gives Louder the feel of a live set. That is exactly where the song goes next, into a Tacoma ballroom on the first Saturday of 2027.”
