Catlea’s ‘Bones’ EP Promises Enduring Melodies and Emotionally-Loaded Indie Pop Tunes for the Modern Listener

The eclectic indie pop sensation Catlea from Cincinnati, United States, has taken the music scene by storm with their infectious, soulful tracks. Imagine the lush infusion of soul, stirred with bits of R&B and a touch of disco – Catlea’s forthcoming single ‘Bones’ slated for release at the end of October, is all that and much more.

Catlea’s meteoric rise can be attributed to their earlier singles, ‘Like Me’, ‘Lying’, and ‘Crumbling’, which collectively amassed over two million streams. The fourth single, ‘Bones’, is set to be the lead single for their upcoming ‘Bones’ EP, which promises to imbue the full-length album ‘Language Barrier’, debuting on January 17th, 2025, with soul-searching melodicism.

“Catlea has an innate ability to marry the complexities of emotional experiences with accessible, soul-infused indie pop beats,” notes the music curator team at PopHits.Co. This transparent and authentic songwriting style is demonstrated potently in ‘Bones’, a song destined to be a therapeutic release for those navigating the tumultuous waters of a breakup.

The song ‘Bones’ doesn’t shy away from the complex emotional upheaval associated with breakups. Catlea’s lyricism delves into the confusion and duality of still having unresolved feelings while growing weary of discussing them. The track is poised to strike a chord with anyone who’s been through a breakup, turning isolation into a shared, collective experience through its relatable narrative.

Surprisingly, ‘Bones’ almost didn’t feature on Catlea’s ‘Language Barrier’ album. Only when finalising the album in Barcelona’s Room To Studio, did producer Jason Boshoff and guitarist Oscar Garcia-Bragado realise the demo’s potential and ensured it made the final cut. “After finishing the writing of ‘Bones’ in one night, Catlea now considers it one of the strongest songs on the album,” shares Boshoff.

For enthusiasts of indie pop, alternative pop, and contemporary pop – vibe affiliates of artists like Florence Welch and Hozier – Catlea’s music is a must-listen. Their uniquely engaging blend creates an enticing atmosphere for emotionally charged lyrics and honeyed vocals that lead to an awe-inspiring listening experience.

“When delivered by Catlea’s honeyed vocals, ‘Bones’ becomes both a beautiful confessional and a therapeutic release,” notes our team.
