We certainly do love some jazz-influenced hip-hop music and NËK’s latest EP, Exceeded Expectations, is the perfect example of that. We discovered his music recently, which has become one of our favourite rappers
NËK is been making music for about a decade, but his first EP, Exceeded Expectations, was just released recently.
There is something unique about the way this song sounds, because of the combination of jazzy beats and smooth vocals that give it a very unique arrangement that is both psychedelic and groovy at the same time. It wouldn’t be possible to categorize it into one of the categories mentioned before.
‘Exceeded Expectations’ is one of his best EPs yet, blending psychedelic grooves with boom-bap beats, jazz influences, and political rap.

Regardless of the circumstances in a person’s life, they can still grow. Evolution is a constant process, and stagnation is impossible.
It is very rare to find a track that has this level of clarity and crispness that is not overproduced or polished to the point where it becomes dull. Having instrumental breakdown breaks to intersperse the songs at appropriate points adds a great deal of variety to the songs without feeling forced or extraneous.
You’ll never get sick of the music; it’s edgy and political, with banger beats that’ll keep you moving regardless of your mood.
